In this article, we are going to see Delete WordPress Theme Through Dashboard And Manually
Initially, WP Theme can be used by editing it manually or we can use it as the way it is. The theme which we edited can be changed or reverted originally only by deleting the edited theme and then reinstalling. Now we are going to see how the themes can be deactivated and deleted. It can be easily done in two ways.
Through WordPress Dashboard – Using FTP Manager
The steps to be done in both methods are described in order below.
Deleting Themes Through WP Dashboard
Login to WordPress Dashboard -> Appearance -> Themes as shown in the image,
here we have default themes.
Before activating the themes, we can preview it by clicking “Live Preview”. The details of all particular themes can be seen before using it. The themes which we activated can be customized as highlighted in the image.
Once the theme is activated or edited “we can deactivate it by activating another theme” as shown in figure.
Hence, the customized theme can be deactivated. Once you find that theme is not active click on to its details where we can see “Delete” button which certainly comes at the bottom of the page which is shown in the image.
Now we get a message box for confirmation of deleting the theme.
Finally, the theme can be removed from the dashboard successfully and not further seen in the Dashboard. Hence it will look like as shown in the image.
We can activate the same theme by installing it, note that the original theme only be available not the one which we edited.
Deleting Themes Through FTP Manager
Here, login into FTP Server -> WordPress installation folder. Now move to WP-Contents -> Themes where we can delete the themes path folder. Then move to WordPress Content -> Plugin to delete all that particular theme plugins. It is described in the image below.
Now the theme is successfully removed with the use of FTP Manager.
