Table of Page Contents
#1. We are happier to know more about Zac Johnson other than blogging.
I’ve always had a passion for making money and having my own business. I first started making money online in the mid-90s and then started with blogging in 2007. I was lucky enough to have the internet come around at the perfect time where I could start an online business and build a personal brand in the process.
#2. What leads you to be a blogger? Is there any typical reason behind?
The main reason why I started a Blog, was that I wanted to focus on my personal brand. Having already had years of success in the world of affiliate marketing, I wanted to create a blog, so I could share my story and expertise with others, to help others learn how to do the same. In the process, the blog has completely changed my business and life for the better while offering new opportunities every day.
#3. How crucial is choosing the best hosting for a site or blog?
Hosting is always going to be important for a website, but for most people, a general shared hosting plan is more than enough.
However, if you are going to have an e-commerce website or a Blog that will be high traffic and make you a decent amount of money, you should invest in a dedicated server or one that can scale with your business over time.
When first getting started with a website or blog, there is no need to spend more than $10 per month on your web hosting.
#4. Please tell about your plan and strategy of working in picking the blog posts topic or title.
With more than a billion active websites and blogs on the internet today, the internet is getting overloaded with content. With that in mind, it should be a big Focus to spend a lot more time on creating quality content and coming up with new ideas for your audience versus just pushing content out there. If you want to make money with a website or blog, your content needs to provide value and have some form of monetization as well.
The key here is to create one of the best of resources as possible, and then spend most of your time promoting it and getting high-quality backlinks from other Authority websites. This is a method that has worked for several years now and will continue to work for many years to come.
#5. These days, we could see all the bloggers are offering e-books or free guides on SEO or blogging. How to pick the best out of it, as people can’t manage to subscribe for all the resources?
This goes along with the previous point, where there is simply way too much information out there. If you want to learn how to find success online or even create your blog or business, I recommend that you simply get started and learn from your own mistakes and journey.
The basics of getting started with online business are quite simple, and most of them will cross over and cover the same topics.
#6. Do you prefer running a single authoritative blog or handling multiple niche blogs to increase online income?
For the most part, I would prefer to run an individual Authority blog or website versus a bunch of smaller ones. One of the main reasons for this is because it makes the content creation and promotion process a lot easier.
It’s much easier and effective to promote one website all the time vs. trying to build out new content and backlinks for other sites. Right now I have around five main websites that I focus most of my time and effort.
#7. What is your best online monetization strategy? Do offer some valuable tips and tricks for the bloggers who are struggling to make money?
When it comes to the monetization of content, it all comes down to what you are providing to your audience and if you are giving them the right call to action. This is one of the main reasons why it’s so important to make sure you pick a niche specific topic and then cover it and as much detail as possible.
For example, if somebody is looking for online review or coupons before making a purchase, and the end up on their website they are much more likely to continue with that call to action and make a purchase. It all comes down to the relevancy of not just the content you create, but also the monetization or offer you have in place. This is something I have done exceptionally well within the world of web hosting.
When someone comes to my website, they can read a complete resource guide on how to start their first website or blog, and I can then walk them through the process of how to set up first web Hosting account. The monetization here works extremely well because it’s exactly what my audience is looking for.
#8. How guest posting would be an efficient way in building links? Do you appreciate it?
Guest blogging is still one of the most effective ways to build backlinks to a website, while also building a personal brand in the process. When guest blogging for the first time, you might have to start with smaller websites, but as you build up a portfolio and resume of sites, you can then find yourself writing for sites like Entrepreneur, Inc Magazine, Huffington Post, and many other well-known Brands within your Niche.
No matter what you are guest blogging about, always make sure the content is the highest possible quality and represents your personal name or brand well. Lastly, always be sure to promote your guest blog post as this will help with social shares, backlinks, and also keeping the site on her happy.
#9. What are all the SEO premium tools you are using and you would recommend others to use?
There are plenty of SEO tools on the market today. One of my favorites is SEMRush, as it allows you to not only analyze your backlinks and rankings but also that of the competition as well. It’s an easy to use the tool and provides everything you need the rank higher in the search results while also coming up with new keywords and competitive analysis.
#10. How much time you are spending a day for learning or for market analysis or to update yourself from online resources?
When you have your own online business and work from home, you can pretty much spend your time however you like. The important thing is that you actually get work done and are always progressing. I actually enjoy doing market research and analyzing the competition to see who is ranking for what keywords and why. I would say I spend at least five hours a week on this alone.
#11. What are all the monetization ways or sources you are having now for Zac Jhonson blog? Do you still prefer Google Adsense than affiliate marketing?
Google AdSense is one of the most basic forms of affiliate marketing or how to monetize a blog or website. However, it’s not recommended for a website that has a specific call to action or value to an audience.
I would really only use Google AdSense on a general traffic website where people are just coming to read articles or look at pictures, and there is no clear definition on what type of content they are looking for.
The best ways to monetize a website or blog are through affiliate marketing or creating a product or course of your own. These are the two methods I currently spend most of my time on and make the most money with.
#12. What is the unique reason behind the success of your blog?
One of the biggest reasons why my blogs have found a lot of success over the years is that I have stuck with them for the long run. New content is being added all the time, and I’m always promoting them through social media, guest blogging, cross-promotion, and speaking at different conferences and growing my brand in the process.
In short, my blogs have become my personal brand, which also helps me promote them and dedicate more time to their success. However, it’s also important to realize that I’ve been in this industry for over 20 years now and have been blogging at ZacJohnson.com for over ten years as well.
#13. What would be the best strategy to bring more traffic and engaging visitors?
Ranking organically in Google is always going to be one of the best options, but it’s also tough, and you have to compete against some of the most significant websites and brands on the internet today. If you have a call to action or monetization play in a place that you know works, you should consider your options with paid advertising.
This can be done through pay-per-click marketing in the search results or even paid to advertise on Facebook. One of the best ways to make money with a website or blog is to get someone to submit their email address and to join your newsletter or order responder series. You can do build a relationship with that user and pitch your products or services to them over time.
#14. What would be trending SEO or digital marketing in upcoming years as now content is the KING?
While SEO and ranking in the search results are always going to be important, I think there is a growing Trend right now that focuses on mobile marketing and social media. Fewer people are using their desktops to access the internet, and even fewer are using Google.
You need to know how to adapt your business to these changes and take advantage of what social media and mobile usage have to offer. The websites and brands that adapt to these changes are the ones that will continue to find success in the coming years.
#15. What is your future goal and how seriously you are working towards it?
I’m always working on new projects and scaling out new sites to reach new audiences. This is something I have focused most of my time and effort on for the past several years and continue to find success.
This is also something that I recommend most people do instead of jumping all over the place and trying to create new websites and blogs to catch up with the competition.
Focus on what you are best at and turn your expertise and passion into a real business and online brand. This way, no matter what happens with the search results or even social media, you will be the brand and business.
